Our five monuments are what the ColVelo calendar revolves around every year. Kicking off with the 243km Ronde Van Anglia in early April and finishing in August with the 220km East Anglian Echapee, we offer monthly rides totalling over 1250km.
These are truly epic!
Rolling out every Saturday, our standard club rides typically range between 70km and 160km with a pace around 28kmh but dictated by the riders, and a strict no drop policy.
Of course, there’s always a chance for at least one coffee stop!
Coffee & Canvas
Every Sunday we run our ever-popular Coffee & Canvas rides.
These are between 50-70km, with a relaxed pace of 24kmh, and always featuring a stop for a coffee and cake at one of our many favourite haunts throughout North Essex and Suffolk.
The original and best GraVelo!
At ColVelo we’ve been seeking out the best of the local ribinou, tracks, trails and bridle paths for our members enjoyment. With plenty of local knowledge, we manage to mix routes ranging from 30km to 120km and many more planned!
Something a little more spirited to compliment our Coffee & Canvas Rides.
Espresso are regular, shorter, sharper rides on a Sunday morning, but not as structured as a chain gang on some well surfaced roads with an eye on being home before anybody knows you’ve gone!
Throughout the year we offer multi-day cycling adventures a bit further afield...
Open exclusively to ColVelo members, we've explored the far north of the Scottish Highlands, the hills of north Wales, the fire roads of Kielder Forest, and the southern Spanish Mountains.
We’re really pleased to be able to share that from 2019 ColVelo will be supported by two fantastic new partners in Colchester Motorglass and the Queen Street Brewhouse. Andy Colsell of Colchester Motorglass has been a club member from day one, as well as acting as driver for all of our daft long distance trips… Read more
Here at Colvelo, whilst riding our bikes is central to what we do, we make sure to balance that out with plenty of other stuff! Here’s a taster of things we do to compliment our rides. One of our favourite ride formats is the Transit ride, a long-ish one-way ride to a destination followed by… Read more
